Men and Women with an unprecedented dedication to the community in which they serve

The Edgartown Firemen’s Association

Duty. Commitment. Community.

The Edgartown Firemen’s Association was established in 1952. It consists of the men and women of the Edgartown Fire Department; active and retired firefighters, EMTs, and honorary members. The organization is led by a head table with a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

Our members train diligently to keep Edgartown safe, becoming proficient in skills ranging from firefighting, basic and advanced life saving, marine rescue, high angle ropes rescue, rapid extrication techniques, confined space rescue, and everything in between. The association was established to support these volunteers in their endeavors and to support the local people of Edgartown.

Preserving the Ways of Times Past

After retirement, Senior Captain Richard Kelly began collecting Edgartown Fire memorabilia from around town, building a large collection that is now the present day Edgartown Fire Museum. Take a walk through the past and learn how Edgartown Fire has transformed since the department was established in the 19th century.

The Edgartown Firemen’s Association accepts and appreciates donations that contribute to our mission. We are actively raising funds for new equipment to better the department as a whole and protect the lives of our members while they protect our community.
